About Thomas Ryan Alsop

I first felt the call to the ministry when I was about 15 years old at Falls Creek, a church camp in Davis, Oklahoma. The speaker told the story of his call to the ministry, and at the end of the service he called an invitation for lost people, and those who were called to the ministry. I felt God calling me to the ministry, but I felt that I wasn't good enough to serve. I fought with God through the whole invitation, not to go down.

A few years went by, I graduated High School, completed studies at Tulsa Technology Center, and decided I wanted to go to college to pursue an education in electrical engineering. I moved to a College in Northern Texas, but I had to face some challenges. I was only one of a few professing Christians in the entire dormitory. My roommates were Drug-Dealers and Anti-Christians to say the least. I had many challenges living with them. They would always try to test my faith, and prove Christianity wrong. I started studying Christian Apologetics to defend my faith, and in return, my faith grew stronger.

I had a couple of dreams my first month at college. The dreams were reminding me of my calling, but I still didn't think I could be useful. The feeling of God calling me to the ministry was clearly not going away. I decided that I had run long enough from God's calling, and I wanted to accept this call. I surrendered to the call one night while I was praying in my room, trying to avoid the wild party my roommates were throwing in our living room. That weekend I came back home to Tulsa, and confronted my pastor about it after a Sunday night service.

Since I have accepted the call, I have been involved in foreign missions, prison ministries, and youth ministries. I have been to Mexico, Japan, and Brazil. I have preached in several churches around the world, done visitation witnessing, visited hospitals, prison, taught youth classes, and have even been a counselor at Falls Creek, where I first heard the call. I have been involved with World Wide Ministries since 2002, and was licensed to preach by my church in 2003. I have been working with Barnabas Ministries since 2003. God has blessed me, by letting me witness hundreds of people come to Him.
