About T.
Eugene Herndon
T.
Eugene Herndon was born in Vinita, Oklahoma on July 25th, 1923.
At the age of ten he became convicted of his sins and realized
that he was lost. During a Sunday evening service at the Baptist
Church in Racine, Missouri, Eugene walked down the isle and
repented of his sin and invited Jesus Christ into his heart
and life. Since he invited Jesus Christ into his heart and life,
things have never been the same.
Eugene spent forty-two months in the South Pacific during World
War II in the Army Air Force. While stationed at Clark Field
in the Philippines, Eugene surrendered his life to preach the
Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. After the Japanese surrender,
he was one of the 500 Air Force men to come home and march in
the victory parade.
Following
his return home, Eugene surrendered to the ministry at First
Baptist Church of Claremore, Oklahoma. He then entered Oklahoma
Baptist University and graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Eugene spent thirty-seven years
in the pastorate, pastoring for three churches most of his time.
Feeling
God's leadership, Eugene resigned the pastorate to enter full
time Evangelism and mission work. For the past twenty years,
he has been leading teams in international mission work. In
1989 he was honored by Who's Who of American Christian Leadership
and in 1998 by the International Mission Board for making ninety-seven
mission trips. He completed his 117 successful mission trips
in 76 countries around the world in just 22 years.
